From Barbra Sims:

Please pray for Ricky Norris, my son, He has been taking anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medicine for over 10 years and also diabetic medicine. One of which is metformin. It can cause lactic acidosis. I took him to another Dr. If he is not better by his next appointment Friday The 8th of Sept. he will put him in the hospital. The new Dr. took him off all the medicines except two others for diabeties. He is very sick and is not eating or able to get around the way he has. He is sore and walks different. Thank you so much for the prayers for Herb. He is better at this time.

God Bless you all.

Barbara

8\15\06

Herb Sims is having dizzy spells. After running some tests, the doctors have concluded that the major artery supplying blood to Herb's brain is narrowing. This is the cause of his dizzy spells and the bad news is that it will get progressively worse. Herb is naturally depressed over this and Barbara is distressed as well. They have moved into a new home off Simonton Bridge Road and their phone number is: 706-310-8597.

Also Please keep the following in your Prayers:

from Bob Sellers: Please pray for little Macie Robinson. She is the two month old Great Grandaughter of my last living Aunt. Macie has been diagnosed with ALL (Acute Limphoblastic Leukemia). She is in Texas Children's Hospital in Houston where she was given a transfusion to bring down the high white blood count and is now undergoing chemo. The good news is that ALL is 80% curable given that Macie doesn't come down with some bad infection.

Bill and Dee Lee's daughter-in-law, Tina, she has colon cancer. And her husband is about to be deployed to Afghanistan.

Update on Ms. Thelma from Glenda.

They x-rayed her shoulder, armand foot. She has a hairline fracture of a bone in her foot that requires
only wearing a hard bottom shoe so that her foot does not bend when she walks and let it move out of alignment. Her upper arm bone also has a crack, but the ER doc only put her in a sling and said to call her orthopedist on Tuesday when the office reopens. She's sore, but the outlook now is better than I would have expected. I will give you an update when
she has seen her orthopedist. Often, they see things on the x-ray that the
ER doc misses. Thanks for your concern. Glenda

Recieved from Bob:

Richard Clements, a true friend and faithful christian, has a brain tumor. Further tests revealed that he also has lung cancer which may have been the cause for the brain tumor. Richard is a member of Campus View and many of you know Richard and Anne personally. Please give Richard and his family a special place on your prayer list at this time.

I also heard from Lily Porter that Gene Cook passed away. Gene and Mozelle were long time members at Campus View but for the last several years have lived in Snellville ( I think?). Gene and Mozelle have both been in ill health for some time. Again, several of you know them as well. Please add Mozelle and others of Gene's family to your prayer list.

These additions do not diminish the need of prayers for Michelle's brother Mike and Virginia's niece Christy as well as the hurricane victims.

9/4/05

From Bob Sellers:

Wick Johnson passed away this afternoon around 3:30. This is both good and bad news. Good in the sense that Wick is through suffering and has gone home to God. Bad in the sense that we have lost a good friend and fellow christian. I understand that Liz does not want nor need visits at this time. Please call Maurice if you need more information on this or on the arrangements. Please pray for Liz, Mary, and Michael.

Details on the arangements will be posted on the site as I recieve them.

8/21

From Barbra Sims:

I want you all to know I have pneumonia. I found out Wednesday. They said I had had it a long time. I know I have felt bad a long time. I had been treated twice this year for what I called the Crud
for lack of a better term because they didn't tell me what it was. when I asked they waggled their head. Please put me on the prayer list. Thanks a heap. Barbara

Peggy Bramblet and her ongoing illness and employment issues

Tom Keister's Sister:

Please remember Tom Keister's sister in your prayers as she goes in for treatment for Breast Cancer.

Jose Buitrago

I would like to ask for prayers for my coworker, Jose Buitrago. he is currently at Emory and having just finished a week long intensive Chemo treatment, will be undergoing Stem Cell Replacement. This will require him to remain in the hospital until the middle of Sept. This is his 2nd bout of cancer, having first thought they got it, only for it to return 4 months later in a more aggressive manner.

8/17

8/14

We had a phone call from our Son Henry tonight. His little twin girl Marilla again has a bacterial infection. The doctors are trying to figure out which antibiotic they can use. They are having a problem getting an IV line in her vein. She is at home now awaiting her Urologist to call them on Monday. Please have the Church to pray! Thanks and God bless. Norma Sue

Wick Johnson is now looking for a local Dr to prevent trips to Atlanta. Please remember him and family in your prayers

7/31

Request from Troy: Apparently my mom was admitted to the hospital today with sudden short term memory loss. The doctors at the local po-dunk hospital think that its due to a very low level of potassium, but I'm not at all certain that they know what they're talking about. I petition the church for prayers.

From our Campus view Brethren:

From Marty Payne:

I have an uncle that lives in Jasper, Florida, my dad's brother, Clyde Payne has had more bad news about his cancer. It started out with cancer in his nasal cavity and has had surgery to remove it. Radiation and chemotherapy was done and things looked OK. I got an e-mail from him today. The cancer has spread to his jaw, lymph nodes, lungs, chest and stomach. He was to have surgery on his jaw on August 22nd, but now it is on hold. He will be starting radiation again on August 8th on his jaw.
Far as the other areas, the doctors are getting all the facts together and will discuss things with him in a few weeks.

Also an old co-worker of mine in Savannah, Ron Watson, his wife, Becky, has cancer. Hers started out in the lungs and has spread to her lymph nodes and about 3 places in her acutal back bone. They give her a few months to live. She also has gone through the full treatment. We went to Savannah a few weeks ago but she was to sick for us to come by for a
visit.

Could you place them on the prayer list. Uncle Clyde and Becky are very special to me and my family. They both have a type of cancer that is fast spreading and has no cure.

We know how powerful prayer can be but I guess I ask for comfort for them and their families, for it seems there is no cure for them. In our small group Sunday night we talked about the lession again from Sunday morning. We pray for them to have a shepard look over them in what could be their final months with us. We know the gate will be opened for both of them
and they will walk through it.

Thanks again for for your prayers.

Remember the King...

From Theressa Payne:

Greetings all,

This upcoming week, i will be taking Simeon off to college . He was offered a partial scholarship to play soccer for Middle
Georgia and it looks like this may be the best financial choice at the moment. A soccer coach from Faulkner Univ has
also been courting Simeon and last week called to double his first offer, but even with this offer, the outstanding fees
are more than my budget can handle with two in college. I am asking prayers that God will intercede and direct the
decisions that are made for and by Nique and Simeon as they continue their education and take on the next phase of their
lives.

Also I received a letter of notice from my homeowners insurance that they were dropping my coverage this August. I
have called about four or five companies (state farm, geico, a1, etc.) so far and have not found any one who can cover my
home, due to the fire this past year and previous claims. I'd like prayers for finding a company that will cover me and will
not give me an outrageous rate. Also, if anyone has suggestions or can recommend a company, please let me know.
thanks, tpayne

7/30

Update from the Lotts: Thanks so much for your prayers. Rilla is doing so much better. The fever is gone and she is home. She will visit her urologist next week. She has one kidney that isn't draining well so she will need some surgery soon. Again......thanks and God bless you! Norma

7/28

Please pray for Morrila Lott, one of the twins. She has a rare bacterial infection and is being put in the hospital tonight for IV antibiotics. Thanks and God bless you all.

Tom said his Dad was showing marked improvement and barring any setbacks will probably go home in the next few days. Tom and Darlene extend their thanks for all our prayers and concerns.

7/27

Tom Keister's dad has been admitted to the hospital. The doctor's first diagnosis is fluid on the lungs with probable pneumonia. Tom and Darlene will keep us updated.

7/24

Current as of 7/23:

I talked with him about 10:30 AM and he says he is fine. He has several fractures: his hip, knee, a couple of ribs, and maybe his elbow. He has been up walking and is trying to get the doctor to dismiss him so he can go home. He was returning home from Cartersville, GA, (Bartow County), in route from Alabama, when the accident occurred. The accident was a head-on collision with a Jeep. He does not remember anything about the accident. He was air-lifted to the North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell, he doesn’t know why they took him there. The girl in the Jeep was taken to Athens. He cannot locate his truck with his clothes and tools; the Sheriffs office in Bartow County does not answer their phone. The children are with Tammy and Dexter’s next door neighbors and are doing fine. Tammy is doing fine and has the van, so they do not need transportation or any help like that. Dexter assured me that he would let us know when he is dismissed and if and when they needed any help; all he needs is his truck so he can get his clothes. Thanks, Maurice

6/9

Tammy Bland’s father had a heart attack yesterday in Tupelo, MS. Tammy was with him when it happened; he was rushed to the hospital and underwent a heart catheterization and the install of a heart stint. Tammy is staying with the family for a few more days. She requested the prayers of the church for her father’s recovery.

Also, Wick Johnson underwent another surgical insertion of chemo into another tumor. Liz said he is doing much better than before; at least he is eating. They hope to be at home tomorrow. Please keep the family in your prayers.

Update on Jerry Balthrop

Current diagnosis is Congestive Heart Failure and Chronic Renal (Kidney) Failure, both of which are common with diabetics. On Tuesday, the dye test was performed which revealed that one vessel in the heart was 50% blocked, and another was 99% blocked, with some other minor heart damage. Due to high kidney levels (what ever numbers the doctor was looking at), today’s procedure was only exploratory to determine his heart condition.

The procedure was preformed with a more “kidney friendly” dye. To do angioplasty or place stints in his heart would require a more powerful dye. Both dye’s are however dangerous to the kidneys, especially for someone with elevated kidney levels. With this in mind, his kidney levels will need to be monitored the next several days to ensure that his kidneys did not receive additional damage from the test.

His doctors are still consulting with each other to determine the best course of treatment based on his health. We hope to have more information regarding treatment options for both the heart and kidneys by the end of the week.

4/4

Update on Wick:

The Chemo-embolism procedure has been completed. Wick is very uncomfortable and exhausted. He will be hospitalized at Crawford-Long overnight to watch for fever and other signs of infection. If his signs are normal tomorrow, he will return home for a two-week period and then return for another treatment at Crawford-Long Hospital. Please keep the Johnson’s in your prayers.

Jerry Balthrop

Please pray for my dad, who we had to take to the hospital yesterday and is now being tested and treated for slight congestive heart failure. Tests and treatment options are still being discussed. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

3/29

After an MRI and a spinal tap, my niece Christy, in Nashville TN., has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Prayers for Christy and her parents would be very much appreciated.

Thank you,
Virginia

3/28

Continued Prayers are requested for Wick, Liz and family: Wick and Liz received unhappy news concerning the success of the chemo therapy. It appears that there has been no change in the tumors. The next step is to stop the chemo and give Wick time to rebuild his strength than start a new procedure. In about two weeks Wick will be injected with radiation pellets to fight the growth of the tumors. This will involve nuclear therapy which has often been used successfully when the chemo fails.

3/27

Ed Exum (son of Jack Exum) died sometime today. Many of us know the Exums so I am passing this information on. There will be a memorial service held at Campus View but the time and date have not been set as yet. I will send an Email as soon as I receive the information. Add Linda and the Exum family to your prayer list.
